Glenmuir wins a record eighth ISSA Ben Francis Cup

Glenmuir High School are the 2026 ISSA Ben Francis Cup champions. The team beat Clarendon College 2-0 in the final on October 17, 2026 at the St Elizabeth Technical Sports Complex in Santa Cruz, winning the cup for a record eighth time.
Rojhon Brown gave Glenmuir the lead in the 26th minute, heading home from a corner. Orel Miller made the win safe in second-half stoppage time with a low left-footed finish. Captain and goalkeeper Justin Murray, named Most Valuable Player of the final, kept another clean sheet: Glenmuir played six games this season and did not concede a single goal.
The title moves Glenmuir ahead of Cornwall College and STETHS, who have seven Ben Francis Cups each. It adds to Glenmuir's wins in 1993, 1994, 1999, 2004, 2005, 2009 and 2022. It is also the first trophy for Ashanti Mullings in his first year as head coach. He told the Jamaica Observer the team is already looking ahead to the daCosta Cup: "This is the first hurdle, and once we have that out of the way we can now start planning for the other titles."
Congratulations to the players, coaches and the whole Glenmuir family in May Pen. Supporting sports, from athletic gear to tournament travel, is one of the ways the New York Chapter helps our alma mater's students compete. To back the next team, make a gift or join the chapter.
