About the chapter
What is the Glenmuir Alumni Association New York Chapter?
It is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in New York that brings together Glenmuir High School alumni and friends to fund scholarships, student welfare and STEM at Glenmuir High School in May Pen, Clarendon, Jamaica. The chapter was established in 1997.
Is the NY Chapter part of the Glenmuir PSA?
Yes. We are one of five chapters of the Glenmuir High School Past Students' Association, alongside Jamaica, South Florida, Toronto and London.
Who runs the chapter?
An elected executive committee of volunteers. See About Us for names and roles.
Giving
How can I donate?
You can give online by PayPal at paypal.me/glenmuiralumniny, by Zelle to [email protected], or by mailing a check payable to Glenmuir Alumni Association – NY Chapter to 1470 Rosser Ave, Elmont, NY 11003.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes. The chapter is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by US law.
Will I get a receipt?
Yes. PayPal and Zelle send your receipt automatically. If you mail a check, the chapter will send you a receipt.
Can I choose what my gift supports?
Yes. Add the program name (for example "Scholarships" or "Robotics") in the PayPal note, Zelle memo or check memo line.
Where does my money go?
Funds are paid directly to verified Glenmuir programs, vendors or scholarship recipients. We share an annual impact summary with members and donors.
Does my employer match gifts?
Many do. Ask your HR team, then contact us for our EIN.
Do I have to be a Glenmuir graduate to give?
No. Anyone who believes in Glenmuir's students is welcome to give.
Membership
Who can join the NY Chapter?
Glenmuir High School alumni can join, wherever they live.
How do I join?
Request to join on the Membership page. Once a chapter admin confirms you, you'll receive an invitation to the member portal.
Why is the portal invitation-only?
It keeps the community limited to verified Glenmuir alumni and free of spam.
Can I belong to more than one chapter?
Yes. One portal account can belong to several Glenmuir chapters.
Events
Are events open to non-members?
Yes. Most events, including the Dinner-Dance and Summer Fish Fry, are open to everyone.
How do I buy tickets?
Follow the "Get tickets" link on each event listing on the Events page.
